Mission Statement

To establish a full time, multifaceted adult Jewish education program dedicated to studying Torah and teaching it to men, women, and young adults, regardless of their affiliation or background

What is a Kollel?

That’s probably the most frequently asked question by people who are new to the Columbus Community Kollel or one of its programs. The word “Kollel” means community or group. A Kollel is a group of post-graduate Rabbis who dedicate themselves to Torah study.

At a community Kollel, the faculty not only studies Torah, but also shares its love of Torah with men and women, young and old, through teaching, one-on-one study and large-scale outreach programs.

Whether you're Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, unaffiliated or somewhere in between, the Columbus Community Kollel is a vibrant source for Jewish learning. Through study opportunities in various formats and locations, the Kollel brings a new dimension to everyday Jewish life.

The Kollel's team of dynamic rabbis will give you the tools to connect timeless Jewish traditions with modern life. You'll learn in a nurturing environment as the rabbis impart wisdom with their minds and also their hearts. They will open their homes and lives to share Shabbat, holidays and even family celebrations with you. And each year, the Kollel adds new Torah study and outreach opportunities to make Torah study more accessible to Jews of all backgrounds.
By uniting fellow Jews through shared joy in Jewish education and tradition, and by extending a friendly, upbeat, non-judgmental invitation to all Jews, the Columbus Community Kollel is building bridges in our community.
